    Hey Tone,<br>
    <br>
    I think I got it.<br>
    It seems that latex can handle transparency with vector image only.<br>
    I found the solution to my issue in the last release of inskcape
    (0.48).<br>
    It can read/write postscrip files (even eps, pdf, ....) with
    transparent background compatible with pdflatex.<br>
    It's juts awesome.<br>

With pdflatex you may also use PNG format. This combination I usually
use for manuscripts.
