Thanks for the response, Tone. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be that simple, since I AM running it locally.

The error message indicates you trying to run xcrysden remotely?
Please run xcrysden locally or else enable X11 forwarding. Note however
that in this latter case the remote running will be rather slow.
