I forgot to specify in the last meail, that you should terminate it
where it pauses.

Here is the correction, do instead:

if test -z "${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}"; then
   LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$XCRYSDEN_TOPDIR/external/lib"
else
   LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$XCRYSDEN_TOPDIR/external/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
fi
$XCRYSDEN_TOPDIR/bin/xcrys
