you should use the cvs version only in the following
cases:
- if you plan to add something new to the distribution
- if you need some new development that is not yet
available in the stable version.
If you just want to perform "normal" calculations, the
latest release is all you need.
The latest release and the cvs version will produce
the same numbers, especially if you perform "normal"
calculations, but on bad days the cvs version may not
even compile. This is usually fixed in hours, but it may
happen that a change introduces a bug that is not
noticed before a few days or weeks or months.
Right now there are few differences between the cvs
version and the latest release, but this will not last.
