Dear Jess,

the Berry's phase routines are not parallelized yet  but for gdir=3.
However, the Berry's phase polarization is also
calculated when finite electric fields are applied.
This part of the code has been recently parallelized for
any direction.
You should have a look at the example31 of the CVS version
